Apple Pie or Cherry Pie (Mom's)

Ingredients
- To Make the crust;
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup oil (canola)
- 1/4 cup milk
- Pinch of salt
- For Pie;
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- Cinnamon and Nutmeg
- Dobbs of Butter
- Milk
- 7 or 8 apples (@ least 2 cups)
Preparation
Step 1
Pour oil into measuring a cup a little over the ½ cup mark.
Add milk to oil in measuring cup up to the ¾ mark. Do not mix the oil and milk.
Add pinch of salt to flour
Pour oil and milk into the center of the flour gradually mixing it together with a fork.
Wet Table so wax paper doesn’t stick to table
Place wax paper on table.
Take a little over ½ of the dough
Place dough on wax paper. Take another piece of wax paper and place on top of the dough.
Roll out dough (Lightly press with roller)
Take top wax paper off dough. With the bottom wax paper left on, flip dough into pie plate. Be sure to press dough in so there are no air pockets.
Pour 1/2 cup of sugar. From the 1/2 cup, take 1/3 of the 1/2 cup and sprinkle bottom of pie crust with sugar.
Place ½ of apple in crust.
Sprinkle on 1/3 of the 1/2 cup of sugar over the apples.
Place the other ½ of the apple in pie crust.
Pour 1/3 cup sugar over top of apples.
Sprinkle Cinnamon over the top along with nutmeg.
Place little dobbs of butter all over the top.
Roll out top crust in between the wax paper.
Place dough on top of pie.
Lightly press down edged of pie crust with folk.
Pinch edge of pie
Rub milk on top
Sprinkle with sugar
Place 4-6 slits
Oven 400 degrees for 10 minutes. 350 degrees at 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
After removing pie from oven, press down middle of pie to let steam out.
Create pie rolls from left over dough;
Roll dough
Spread fruit preserve over dough
Rub milk all over roll
Sprinkle with sugar
Cut roll
Place on cooking tray
Cherry Pie
Pitted Cherries 15 oz
Add 1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
