Ingredients

  • 3 lb boneless chuck or shoulder roast
  • 2 c ketchup
  • 1 md onion chopped
  • 1/4 c cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c dark molasses
  • 2 t worcesshire sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • sesame seed buns

Step 1

1) cut roast in half and place in slow cooker. combine rest of ingredients except rolls in large bowl. pour over roast. cover and cook on low 8-10 hors or high 4-5 hours.

2) remove roast from cooking liquid to cool slightly. trim any excess fat and shred with forks.

3) let cooking liquid stand for 5 minutes so fat rises. skim off fat and discard.

4) return meat to slow cooker. stir to coat meat. adjust seasonings. cover and cook low 15-30 minutes or until hot.

5)put on rolls add bbq sauce to sandwich if desired
