Ingredients

  • 1/2

    cup flour

  • 1

    tsp. salt

  • 1/4

    tsp. pepper

  • 2

    lbs. beef stew meat

  • 2

    tbsp. vegetable oil

  • 6

    cups hot water

  • 3

    pared medium potatoes cut into cubes

  • Small baby carrots

  • 1

    medium onion, diced (about 1/2 cup)

  • 1

    tbsp. salt

  • 2

    beef bouillon cubes

  • 1

    bay leaf

Directions

Mix flour, salt and pepper. Coat meat with flour mixture. Brown meat thoroughly in vegetable oil in skillet. Add water and heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 2 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
