German Beer Cake

Oven 350*

Ingredients

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup imported DARK GERMAN beer
  • 2 1/2 cups flour sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soda

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl mix molassses, and butter
add eggs and beat until well blended
add beer alternating with flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, raisins, pecans, and finally soda
bake in greased 9 X 13 pan or tube pan
45 to 50 minutes
remove from oven
you can sprinkle the top with sesame seeds if you like
