Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 eggs separated
- 1 cup grated almonds
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 5 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 pint whipping cream

Step 1
Cream butter and ¾ cup sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks. Add ¾ cup nuts and
sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and flavoring. Beat vigorously. Pour
into 2 buttered and floured layer cake tins. Make meringue of egg whites and 1 cup sugar. Spread over batter in tins and sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. When cool, spread whipped cream between
layers.
