Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/3 c sugar
- 5 egg yolks one at a time
- 1 T vanilla
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 5 egg whites with pinch of salt
- 1 c sugar
- 1 T vanilla
- 2 c chopped pecans
- apricot jam

Preparation
Step 1
Put base into 16x11 inch pan. Spread 1 c apricot jam.
Beat 5 egg whites into soft peaks. Add 1 c sugar, 2 T at a time and the vanilla. Beat till stiff and shiny. Fold in pecans. Spread over jam.
350 for about 30 or until topping is lightly brown
cool before cutting
