Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/4 cup thin sliced ginger
- 2 to 3 stalks lemon grass or a hefty squeeze from the tube
- 2 Tbs 5-spice powder
- 1 tsp chili paste
- 8 to 10 leaves of cilantro
- 2 Tbs black peppercorns
Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix together all ingredients and pour over meat so it is covered. Allow to marinate at least 8 hours, but ideally overnight. Grill meat and allow to sit 5 to 10 minutes after cooking, prior to serving.
