Oven-Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 cup panko-style bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 Tbsp chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 (6 to 7oz) boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, trimmed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425. Lightly spray a baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.

In a bowl, combine bread crumbs, cheese, garlic, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.

Pat chicken dry with paper towels.

Dip chicken in buttermilk and then dredge in bread-crumb mixture, making sure both sides of chicken are coated. Piece breaded pieces in prepared baking dish.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until crumbs are golden brown and an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of chicken registers 160 degrees.

Drizzle with honey and enjoy!
