Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or marg.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup poppy seed
- 2-1/4 cup unsifted all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 mace
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl with electric mixer medium speed cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
In a medium bowl, combine remaining ing.
Gradually add to creamed mixture and beat until well
blended. Divide the dough in 1/2.
On wax paper form each 1/2 into 2 inches wide and 9 inches long. Wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven 325 GREASE 2 large cookie sheets.
Cut dough into 3/4 inches thick slices. Place on sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or golden brown at the edges.
