- 1 c old fashioned oatmeal

Preheat oven to 375º. Butter a cookie sheet.
In a mixer, blend the butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Stir the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Add to the butter mixture and blend.
Add chocolate chips and oatmeal. Mix until blended.
Scoop cookie dough into a ball. Place it on the cookie sheet. Lightly grease a flat bottomed drinking glass. Dip it in sugar and use it to flatten the cookie so that some of the sugar sticks to the cookie. Repeat until you've used up the cookie dough.
Bake them for 8-12 minutes—until golden brown.
