Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

• 6 sweet potatoes
• 2/3 c sugar
• 1/3 c water
• 1 1/2 tbsp butter

Preparation

Step 1

Scrub potatoes with a vegetable brush, peel them and cut in half lengthwise. Place the in a buttered baking dish. Combine the sugar, water, and butter in a small saucepan, bring to a boil until slightly thick. Pour over sweet potatoes. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20-25 min basting occasionally. Potatoes are done, when they are tender when pierced with the tip of a knife.
