  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • I usually make 1 1/2 batches to use the whole can of evaporated milk (12 oz. One bag of chocolate chips is plenty



Step 1

Thoroughly mix shortening, sugar, and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla, Blend well. Add flour, soda, and salt. Blend well. Stir in chocolate chips. Chill 2-3 hours, until thick to hold rounded shape. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes or until golden brown at 325 degrees.
