Ingredients

  • 1 doz. or more large clams chopped
  • 1/4 lb. bacon cubed
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 1 cup celery cut small
  • 2 cups onions cut fine
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 #2 can tomatoes strained

Preparation

Step 1

1. Brown bacon
2. To 2 qts. of boiling water add browned bacon, boil 5 min. Add carrots, onions, celery and 1 teaspoon salt. Boil 20 min. Then add potatoes boil 10 min. Add strained tomatoes, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon thyme and boil 20 min. more. Add clams and broth and 1 tablespoon of flour melted in 2 tablespoons of butter and let boil together 10 min.
3. Serve with oysteretts.
