Sour Cream Waffles with Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • Waffles:
  • 1 3/4 c KA self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 c (8 oz) sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 T butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sauce:
  • 1 pint fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/4 c orange juice
  • Whipped cream and sliced strawberries for serving

Preparation

Step 1

Waffles:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients. Stir into the dry, mixing until the batter is evenly moist.

2. Bake in a waffle iron and serve with strawberry sauce, whipped cream and more strawberries.
