Tuna Steaks

Ingredients

  • SAUCE:
  • 1/2 C olive oil
  • 1/4 C capers
  • 1/4 C pitted & sliced kalamata olives
  • 2 TBL minced shallots
  • 2 TBL minced fresh parsley
  • 1 TBL fresh lemon juice
  • TUNA:
  • 4 fresh or frozen tuna steaks, thawed if frozen (5-6oz each)
  • olive oil, salt & black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

preheat grill to med-high

heat 1/2 C oil in saucepan over med-low until it shimmers
add capers, olives & shallots
simmer 2-3 min
remove from heat
stir in parsley & lemon juice just before serving

rub tuna lightly w/ oil & season w/ S & P
grill, covered 3 min per side for med-rare steaks
remove from grill
tent w/ foil
rest 3 min
serve w/ sauce & lemon wedges
