Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 t. red food colouring
  • 12 (approx) small apples, washed and dried

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornsyrup and water.

2. Over medium heat,stir constantly until sugar is dissolved.

3. Cover, and heat to boiling.

4. Boil, uncovered, and without stirring until syrup reaches hard crack stage on a candy thermometer.

5. Blend in cinnamon and food colouring.

6. Insert wooden sticks in stem end of apples.

7. Roll apples in syrup, letting excess drip back in saucepan.

8. Set apples on buttered parchment paper to set.
