Paula Dean's Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/3 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. diced onion
  • 1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 c. sliced green beans
  • 3 c. chicken broth
  • 1-10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1-2.8 oz. can French fried onions
  • Pinch House Seasoning (recipe to follow)
  • 1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in skillet. Saute onion and mushrooms. In a saucepan, boil green beans in broth 10 minutes. Drain. Add beans, soup, onions and seasoning, to taste, to the onion mixture. Stir well to combine. Spoon into 1-1/2 qt. baking dish. Bake 20 min. Sprinkle cheese over casserole, and bake 10 more minutes, or until casserole is heated, and cheese is melted.

House Seasoning:
1 c. salt
1/4 c. black pepper
1/4 c. garlic powder

Combine. Store in air tight container up to 6 months.
