Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 2 t. baking powder
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 T. crisco or butter

Preparation

Step 1

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425. Place crisco in skillet & let it melt in the oven while it preheats.

Combine dry ingredients. Add milk & eggs. Remove skillet from oven & pour oil into mixture.

Mix well, but don't overwork.

Bake 20-25 minutes until browned.
