Quakertown Crumb Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup molasses or Karo
• 1 egg
• 2 cups cold water
• 1 T flour
• 1 t vanilla
• unbaked pie crust
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 t baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Take first 6 ingredients and boil until thick
Pour thickened mixture into unbaked pie crust
Take last 4 ingredients and mix until fine crumbs
Put crumbs on top of thickened mixture
Bake at 350 degrees until crust and crumbs are browned
