HUNGARIAN PASTA CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 1/2 of 12 oz package of medium egg noodles
  • 1/2 lb of bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces
  • 3-4 sticks celery, cut into 1/2" pieces
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 drops of Tabasco sauce
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms, cooked
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 , 19 oz can tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Grated Cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cooked noodles, Drain and rinse. Meanwhile, pan fry bacon until cooked but not crisp. Add celery and green pepper and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add beef and mushrooms and continue cooking until beef is lightly browned. Remove meat & vegetables to a large bowl. Add mushrooms.

Stir in tomato soup, tomato sauce, tomatoes, Worcestershire and Tabasco. Add cooked noodles.

Place in one large or two small casseroles. Bake at 300F for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly. Remove from oven and garnish with grated cheese and crumbled bacon. Can be frozen first and baked for 45 minutes.
