Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup elbow macaroni pasta
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoon flour
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon course grind black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded colby cheese

Preparation

1. Preheat broiler to high

2. Cook macaroni according to package directions

3. Melt butter over medium heat. whisk in flour and continue whisking until bubbly. add milk, salt, and black pepper and stir until the milk begins to bubble. add cheese and then turn off the heat.whisk the sauce until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

4. Stir in macaroni, and then set the skillet under the preheated broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until several brown spots appear on the surface. remove the pan from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving. the cheese sauce will thicken as it sets.
