Fudgy Mocha Brownies with a Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cold margarine or butter
  • 1 (14oz) Eagle Brand Milk
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. instant coffee dissolved in 1 T. hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. In bowl, combine 1 c. flour and sugar. Cut in margarine until crumbly. Press firmly on bottom of 9x13 pan. Bake 15 min.
In lg. bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, cocoa, egg, remaining 1/4 c. flour, coffee, vanilla and baking powder; mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread over prepared crust. Bake 20 min. or until center is set. Cool. Frost if desired. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
