CARMELIZED GARLIC MUSHROOMS

  • 1

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white mushrooms (this recipe does work well with other types of mushrooms such as cremini or portebello)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

These Caramleized Garlic Mushrooms are an amazing side dish or make a great topping for steaks or burgers!  The key to the deep rich flavor is to allow the mushrooms to caramelize.

Overcrowding the pan or too much stirring can keep you from getting the beautiful caramelized crust on these!

Add butter and oil to a pan and heat over medium high

Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute)

Add the mushrooms to the pan and allow to caramelize… the key here not to stir the mushrooms too much. This will allow for caramelization giving you a rich & yummy flavor

Add butter and oil to a pan and heat over medium high

Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute)

Add the mushrooms to the pan and allow to caramelize… the key here is to stir the mushrooms as little as possible to allow for caramelization

If I were to make these the night before, what would you think the best way to reheat them would be? In the oven at 350 degrees until warmed through?
