Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp each pepper, dried oregano, paprika
- 1/4 tsp grated lemon peel
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 pita bread
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
Preparation
Step 1
Combine first 7 ingredients. Knead together well. Shape into 4 flat burgers approximately 4" in diameter and 3/4" thick. Cook on a medium hot grill for approximately 4 minutes per side or until cooked through. For the sauce, combine yogurt with mayonnaise, parsley, salt and garlic. To assemble, cut open pita to form a pocket. Fit a burger into each. Drizzle sauce into pita and pack in some lettuce.
