Ingredients

  • Chocolate Batter:
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 squares Bakers semi-sweet chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Cream Cheese Batter:
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Step 1

Chocolate Batter:
1. Combine flour, baking soda, salt. Melt chocolate with butter over hot water.
2. Beat eggs until foamy
3. Gradually add sugar, continue beating at medium speed until thick and lemon colored (about 5 minutes).
4. Add vanilla and chocolate mixture, mix well.
5. Add flour mixture and mix well.

Cream Cheese Batter:
1. Beat cream cheese with butter, vanilla, sugar, and eggg until well blended.
2. To finish brownies, layer half of chocolate batter in greased floured 8" square pan.
3. Spread with cheese mixture. Top with spoonfuls of chocolate batter.
4. Swirl with knife through layers of marble.
5. Bake 350°F for 35 minutes, or until brownies pull away from pan.
6. Cool on wire rack.
