Preparation

Step 1

Step # 1
4 cups of Hot water
1 bar soap (grate)
Grate soap into small pieces and cook until well blended over medium heat. (I used my electric salad shooter to grate the soap)

Step # 2
In your pail/bucket add:
1 cup of the washing soda
1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax (can use up to 1 cup if you want it stronger but works well with ½ cup)
4 cups of very hot water (I boiled this water)

Add cooked soap to you bucket mixture and mix

OPTIONAL: cheap liquid detergent (64 ozs); pour into the pail before filling with hot water below.

Fill the pail to the top with very hot water (I boiled this water as well to help with dissolving) Mix it well and let it set at least overnight. Mix again the next day. You can actually let it set for several days. Some of the mixture will rise to the top and it will look like a sludge mess (this is normal) - Just mix making sure you reach the bottom of the container.

Step #3 - Putting into containers:
Using a funnel, if you wish. Make sure you stir the mixture each time before pouring into container
Use a 1:1 ratio of water and mixture; Example:
For 1/2 gallon jugs put 4 cups of soap mixture and 4 cups of water in the jugs
For 1 gallon jugs put 8 cups of soap mixture and 8 cups of water in the jugs.

Ready to use. Shake the container before each use. All you need is 1/2 cup per load
NO SUDS. You should get 32 washer loads out of a gallon.
