Ingredients
- 1 Tbls. butter
- 1 Tbls. flour
- 1/2 cup cloudy apple cider
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 small onion, yellow or red, thinly sliced
- 1/2 Tbls. olive oil (EVOO)
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
Preparation
Step 1
Saute the apples and onions in olive oil until tender, about 5-6 min. Remove from pan. Add butter to pan, and after it melts, whisk in the flour. Cook for 1 min, stirring, then whisk in cider and stock. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over med-low heat for 3-4 mins to thicken. Add the apples and onions back into the gravy and heat through. Serve with pork chops or roast. Recipe can be doubled or tripled for larger servings.
