Shrimp Toast

  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame-seed oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Pinch of white pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 pound uncooked shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 8 slices 2 day old, thinly sliced white bread
  • 1 quart vegetable oil

Step 1

Add sesame seed oil, soy sauce, pepper, and salt to shrimp; mix thoroughly. Cut 32 rounds from bread slices. Spread shrimp mixture evenly on 16 rounds. Top each circle with another round; press edges together.
Heat oil in deep pot until very hot. Drop each round into oil; turn to brown evenly. Takes approximately 2 minutes Drain on paper towels.
