Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp almond extract
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-size bowl and set aside.

Beat the eggs, sugar, almond extract, and zest together in another medium-size bowl.

Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Add in the melted butter.

Preheat your pizzelle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Drop 1 tablespoon of the batter onto each patterned cookie grid on the bottom plate of the iron. Close the iron and cook the pizzelles according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Remove the cookies from the iron and place them on a rack to cool. When you’re ready to serve, dust with the Confectioners' sugar.
