Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1-1/2 cups finely crushed chocolate wafers
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- Cake:
- 24 ounces packaged cream cheese, softened
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 16 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Topping:
- 1 ounce semisweet chocolate
- 1 teaspoon butter
Preparation
Step 1
Crust:
1. In a bowl, combine chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter.
2. Press crumbs firmly into bottom and up 1-3/4" inches up sides of a 9" springform pan.
Cake:
3. In a large mixer bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy.
4. Combine sugar, flour and salt; stir into the cream cheese mixture.
5. Add eggs, all at once.
6. Beat just until combined. DO NOT OVER BEAT.
7. Stir in the melted chocolate, milk and vanilla until combined .
8. Turn into crumb-lined pan.
9. Bake in 325 degree F oven for 60 minutes or until center appears set.
10. Remove from oven; cool 15 minutes.
11. Loosen sides of pan and remove.
12. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
Topping:
13. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 ounce chocolate and butter.
14. Drizzle in lattice design atop cheesecake.
15. Chill until chocolate is set.
