Baked Beans (MRS)

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon, diced
  • 1/3 cup minced onion
  • 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pork and beans
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

Preheat the oven to 425. Butter a 9 by 9 inch baking dish.

Place a skillet over medium high heat. Add the bacon and cook, stirring often, until it begins to brown. Stir in the onion and green pepper and continue cooking for 2 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and the vegetables are soft. Transfer to a large bowl.

Stir in the pork and beans, garlic, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and mustard. Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until bubbly. Serve hot.
