Texas Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 stick margarine
• 4 tablespoons cocoa
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 cup crisco
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Mix and bring to boil margarine, cocoa, water, and crisco. When this is melted, pour over the sugar and flour mixture. Beat well. Add buttermilk, soda, vanilla and eggs.

Beat well. Batter will be thin. Pour in large pan. Bake 25 minutes at 400 degree oven.

Let cool. Cover with chocolate icing.
