Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup drained fruit sauce
- 1/3 cup chopped nuts
- 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 cup fruit syrup
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- Whipped cream or ice cream, if desired
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in 8-inch square cake pan. Add brown sugar, fruit sauce and nuts; mix well. Set aside. In medium mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour batter over fruit-sugar-butter mixture in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; loosen edges with knife and invert onto serving plate. Serve warm with ice or whipped cream, if desired.
