Biscoitos de Natal (Portuguese Christmas Cookies)

My Cookie Exchange Recipe

Ingredients

• 5 pounds flour(Gold Medal preferably)
• 9 tsps baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 4 cups sugar
• 9 sticks Mrs. Filbert's margarine
• 9 eggs(medium or large)
• 3 Tbs Crisco(well full)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients together.
Bring to room temperature the margarine, eggs and Crisco.
Mix all ingredients together.
Heat oven to 350F(if need be, you can lower it to 325F later).
Place rolled circular shaped cookies on a cookie sheet.
Bake until golden brown ,about 7-9 minutes.
Cookies can be washed with egg white and sprinkled with colored sugar if so desired.
