Plum Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 12 large unpeeled plums, washed, pitted and cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup oatmeal

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Grease a deep baking dish and set aside.

Mix the plums, ¾ cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, tapioca, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture into the baking dish. Dot the plums with cut up butter.

Combine the 1 cup flour, 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup butter and 1 cup oatmeal. Using a pastry blender, work the mixture until it forms a crumbly mixture.

Put crumble on top of fruit and bake at 450* for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350* and continue to bake for 30 minutes longer, or until the topping is golden and the plums are bubbly.
