Wisconsin Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 4 carrots
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 2 onions
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons tapioca powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Peel carrots and potatoes and cut into bite-sized pieces. Clean green pepper, celery and onions and cut into bite-sized pieces. Mix the dry ingredients together. In a large covered dish, place stew meat uncooked on bottom of pan. Cover meat with half of the vegetables and half of the dry ingredients, then half of the vegetables and half of the dry ingredients again. Pour tomatoes over top. Bake 5 hours at 250 degrees.
