Beer can chicken and potatoes

Ingredients
- 4 peeled garlic cloves
- fresh thyme
- 4 T olive oil
- sea salt and pepper to taste
- 3 1/2 lb chicken
- 12 oz can of beer (discard half)
- 1 3/4 lb baking potatoes
- 2 t. honey
- 2 t. worcestshire
- 2 t. ketchup

Step 1
1) preheat oven to 450. mash garlic & thyme then mix in 3t olive oil, salt and pepper. rub all over chicken, inside and out
2) stand beer can in raosting tray, set chicken upright over can. scrub and prick potatoes and place in another tray. coat with 1t olive oil and salt and pepper. bake chicken on middle rack with potatoes on bottom rack for 1 and 25 minutes
3) meanwhile, mix honey, worcestshire and ketchup. after 1 hr and 10 minutes, brush chicken with some glaze. reduce heat to 300 and cook for final 15 minutes, glazing every 5 minutes
