Cubed Steak with Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of Crisco (or oil)
  • 4 tablespoons of flour (for gravy) (more if needed)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of Milk or water (for gravy)

Preparation

Step 1

Salt and Pepper both sides of steaks
Put flour in a container
Roll cube steaks in flour (coat both sides) and set aside
Melt Crisco (or oil) in skillet and heat until hot.
Fry steaks on both sides until brown or done
Remove steaks from pan.
Spoon flour into left over oil/grease stirring constantly
Sprinkle in Salt and Pepper to taste
Slowly pour in Milk (or water) into flour mixture.
Stir until desired thickness of gravy is achieved.
Add steaks to gravy and let simmer.

Serve over rice
