Ingredients
- 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 pinches salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp plus 2 tsp toasted sesame oil 1 3/4 lbs lean flank steak, patted dry
- 1 lb asparagus
Preparation
Step 1
1. Using the flat side of a knife or a mortar and pestle, mash together the garlic and pinch of salt until mixture forms a paste; transfer to a small bowl. Mix in honey, lemon juice and soy sauce; slowly whisk in 1 tsp oil.
2. Place steak in shallow dish or bowl. Pour marinade over steak and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
3. Heat the grill to high. Remove steak from marinade and season lightly with salt and pepper. Transfer to grill; cook about 5 minutes on each side. Let meat rest about 5 minutes.
4. Toss asparagus with remaining oil and sprinkle with salt. Place in a grill basket and cook 2-3 minutes a side until tender.
