Ingredients

  • 25 + lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1-1/3 onion, chopped
  • 2.5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-1/3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cans Italian style tomatoes
  • 12 oz. tomato paste
  • 60 pepperoni, quarted
  • Sliced black olives
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz. mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F

Brown beef, sausage, onion and garlic, drain fat. Add next 7 ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.

LAYER IN PAN IN 4 LAYERS:
A little sauce in bottom of pan, ¼ of the cooked noodles, dot on ricotta cheese. Then ¼ of the meat sauce, pepperoni, sliced olives and cheeses. Cover with foil, bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
