Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 2/3 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 can pumpkin
- 2/3 cup water
- 3 1/3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2/3 cups chopped nuts, optional

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 9 x 5 pans
2. In large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until fluffy
3. Stir in eggs, pumpkin and water
4. Blend in flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder and cinnamon.
5. Pour into pans
6. Bake about 70 mins until wooden pick comes out clean
7. Cool in pans 20 mins
