Chocolate Revel Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 c butter or margarine
  • 2 c brown sugar (1 1/2 c)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 c quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 12 oz pkg semisweet chocolate chips ( 2 cups)
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 c toasted chopped walnuts
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream 1 cup butter and brown sugar till fluffy, beat in eggs and 2 tsp vanilla. Stir together oats, flour, soda and 1 tsp salt, stir into creamed mixture till blended. Set aside.
Melt milk, chocolate, 2 tbsp butter and remaining 1/2 tsp salt. When melted, stir in nuts and 2 tsp vanilla.
Pat 2/3 of the oat mixture into ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch baking dish. Spread chocolate mixture over oat layer, sprinkle with remaining oat mixture. Bake at 350 for 25-30 mins.
Cool.. Cut into bars.
