Granny's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 2 t. baking powder
• 1/2 t. vanilla
• 1/2 t. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients and divide into two parts. Chill one to two hours. Roll dough, one part at a time, to 1/8” thickness and cut. Keep other half chilled. Transfer to cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Frost if desired.

Glaze: Blend 1 cup powdered sugar and 5-7 teaspoons water. Add food coloring.
