Ingredients
- 2 T. vegetable oil
- 1 lb. cube steak, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1/2 cup + 1 T. flour
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 2 cups water or as needed
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Garlic salt to taste

Step 1
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Coat steak pieces with flour; shake off excess. Fry steak pieces in hot oil just until browned on each side and there are some juices in the pan. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Stir together the soup mix and the 1 tablespoon of flour; sprinkle into skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until it starts to brown. Gradually mix in the water to make a gravy. Return the steak to the pan; season with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Cover and simmer on low for 1 hour.
