Italian Beef

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water/beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 pkg Italian dressing mix
  • 5 lb rump roast/ chuck roast/ boneless English roast

Preparation

Step 1

Combine spices with the broth and bring to a boil in a saucepan.

Place the roast in the slow cooker and pour the dressing mixture over meat.

Cook on low for 10-12 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

Shred meat with a fork about an hour before the meat is done and put back into liquid to finish cooking.

Serve on a toasted bun with provolone.
