Homemade Spaghetti and Meatballs is my husband's favorite meal that I cook for him. This was a recipe that was passed down to me by my grandma. It was my favorite meal that both my mom and grandma used to make for me growing up. I hope you like it too!!!

Ingredients

  • Meatballs:
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 packages of saltine cracker crumbs
  • salt (spinkle)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 2 onions or celery
  • Sauce:
  • 2 cups catsup
  • 2 8oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 packages of spaghetti sauce mix
  • Extra:
  • 1 box of spaghetti noodles
  • Parmeasan cheese
  • Spices such as basil or oregano to add for taste
  • An extra bottle of spaghetti sauce for leftovers

Step 1

Meatballs:
You will cook your meatballs in a crock pot. Mix meat, an egg, saltine cracker crumbs, salt, and cheese. Form into balls. Dice up onion or celery and place at the bottom of your crock pot(prevents burning and adds flavor). Place your rolled meatballs on top of onions or celery.
Sauce:
Mix 2 cups catsup, 2 8oz. cans tomato sauce, 2 empty tomato cans of water, 2 packages of spaghetti sauce mix. Mix well and pour on top of meatballs.
Cook meatballs and sauce on HIGH for 3 1/2 to 4 hours in crock pot. Add any extra sauce or spices to your liking. When you are ready to serve, cook your spaghetti noodles and add cooked meatballs and sauce on top. Enjoy!!!
