Crunchy Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 6-oz pkg. long grained wild rice mix
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 8-oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 8-oz can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 1 – 2 3/4 oz pkg. sliced almonds

Preparation

Step 1

Cook rice according to pkg, set aside


Cook sausage, beef, onion until meat is brown

Drain

Add rice, mushrooms, chestnuts, soy sauce and stir well

Spoon into ungreased 2-qt. dish, cover & refrigerate over night

Remove from refrigerator and allow to set at room temp for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle almonds over top

Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 50 minutes until thoroughly heated
