Baked Macaroni With Ricotta

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic,minced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 3 cups raw shell,bow,ziti,or elbow macaroni,cooked
  • and drained
  • 1 container (15 oz) ricotta or 1 container (1 pound)
  • cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In skillet brown beef lightly;spoon off excess fat.Add garlic and saute a few minutes,or until tender.Stir in tomato sauce,parsley,basil,salt,oregano and pepper and simmer uncovered 15 minutes.Combine sauce,
macaroni and ricotta in 2-qt baking dish.Top with mozzarella and Parmesan,cover and bake in preheated 350* oven 20 minutes.Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer,or until hot and bubbly.
