Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve of salted soda crackers
  • 1 1/2 cup of butter (not margarine)
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 24-ounce pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 to 2 1/2 slivered almonds

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a 15x10 inch cookie sheet with parchment paper, or use a silicone mat.

Spread crackers over entire pan.

Mix together butter and brown sugar in saucepan. Bring to a boil over low heat and boil for 3 minutes.

Pour mixture over crackers and bake at 400* for 5 minutes.

Crackers will float to the top.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Then sprinkle nuts on top of chocolate. Press down with the back of a wooden spoon, ensuring that the nuts are in contact with the sugar.

Chill until set, at least 3 hours. Break up into pieces.
