Ingredients
- Options:
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp bkg soda
- 1/2 tsp bkg powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tblsp grated orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp orange extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups pistachio
- Can add cranberries at Christmas and dip the bottom in melted white chocolate.
Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour, bkg soda, bkg powder, and salt. Beat butter, sugar and zest together and add eggs . Add flavorings and then add the dry ingredients. Next the pistachios.
Refrigerate for at least an hour.
Preheat oven to 350*
Divide the dough in half. Form each into a log. Arrange logs on a cookie sheet. Pat them slightly with damp hands and them sprinkle with sanding sugar.
Bake @ 350* for 30 minutes.
Transfer the logs to a cutting board. Cut at an angle about 3/4 to1" thick. Arrange on cookie sheets. Bake for 15 minutes. An option is to dip the bottom in white chocolate.
